Manning Ski Hill

The Manning Ski Hill is located only 10 minutes outside of Manning, AB and is a great way to spend a day out on the snow. It has 1 T-bar that runs straight up the middle with a total of 5 trails that lead from the top. On top of that it also offers a ton of different runs through the trees for those looking to explore.

Manning Ski Hill is arguably one of the most tightly knit, family oriented, small town ski clubs I have visited. It is locally operated by volunteers and board members and is a great hill for all ages and abilities. It has a gently sloped bunny hill for new skiers but also incorporates some steeper funs for the more experienced.

What you may not know about Manning Ski Hill

It’s open! The Manning Ski Hill was closed down for about 8 years but was re-opened last winter when they replaced the tow rope with a T-bar lift. The T-bar is much easier to ride and it gets you up the hill in a hurry. The Manning Ski Hill is open on weekends and holidays from 11-4pm for those who want to come and check it out!

Since the ski hill faces away from the sun during the day, Manning Ski Hill gets an extra long ski season. The snow holds very well as a result of its location and the spring skiing is awesome!

Next year, volunteers and board members will be implementing night skiing on Wednesday nights! This is a great chance to get out and check out the hill if you’re simply too busy to make it out on the weekend.

The Manning Ski Hill does not sell food out of the chalet but if you’re lucky, you can get in on the lunch time BBQ action which includes hot dogs, hamburgers and whatever else you want to bring. There’s nothing better than Bar B Qing in the middle of the winter!

Top 5 reasons to visit Manning Ski Hill

1. Proximity

The coolest thing about Vista Ridge is the fact that the whole hill is a terrain park. There are numerous park features on all of the 6 runs that vary from beginner to advanced. This is a great setup for families since they can ride down the same trail, the kids will hit the park features and mom/dad will make their turns, and they can ride back up the lift together! The unique thing about Vista Ridge is that you don’t have to be an advanced skier or snowboarder to come here. They have beginner terrain for those who are just learning and a tube park for those who may not want to try at all.
