Top 5 reasons to visit Long Lake Ski Area

1. Natural Snow

The Long Lake Ski Area does have snowmaking capabilities but they often refrain from making too much in order to provide a more natural feel. The snow quality here is remarkable, you can feel the softness of the snow and you can actually feel the simplicity of getting in and out of your turns.

2. Atmosphere

This ski area is like its own little community. Everyone is super friendly and the overall morale of guests that come here is very high. It is a great place for parents to drop off their kids for the day and know they are in a good and safe environment.

3. No crowds

Even though Long Lake does get a significant amount of skiers and boarders on a regular basis, there are rarely line ups for the lifts, cafeteria or rental shop. Since there are no large cities in the immediate vicinity, Long Lake does not get unbearable amounts of guests which makes it even more special for those who frequent the resort.

4. Amenities/Facilities

The Long Lake Ski Area has everything you need for an all day mountain experience. They have a large chalet, a full rental shop and a cafeteria with an elaborate menu. If you get a chance to head out to this hill, be sure to get a BLT for lunch, it’s amazing! Right next to the ski hill there is also a spot for those who might want to go sledding and tobogganing rather than strapping on the skis. All in all it is a great family environment with plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Click here for more info on Long Lake.

5. Terrain Park

The terrain park at Long Lake is awesome for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. It features all kinds of jumps and rails and it even has a canoe buried in the snow! It is a hot commodity right now at the mountain as many riders go back and forth from the lift to the park all day long.

Congratulations to Aimee Livingston who was our Go Big! Contest winner and took home a pair of lift tickets to Long Lake Ski Area. Also a big thanks to the Waskatenau Motel for providing my accommodations during my visit to Long Lake Ski Area.
