The Whispering Pines Ski Hill is located only 20 minutes from Worsley, AB in the beautiful Clear Hills. It was established in 1984 as a small resort and has now expanded into a great little hill with a triple chair, a Tbar and a handle tow. It has a total of 18 super unique runs that cater to skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. The trails here offer cruising groomers, rolling hills, tree runs and an excellent learn to ski bunny hill.
Whispering Pines is a family friendly resort that self proclaims itself as “Northern Alberta’s best kept secret.” It is known for its great natural snow and amazing homemade food. They also host numerous school programs during the week to accommodate local schools in the area.
What you may not know about Whispering Pines
Last season the main T-bar was replaced with a Doppelmayr triple chair that takes you right to the top of the hill. This is a great option for newer skiers or boarders that may not yet have the ability to comfortably ride up the T-bar. It is also a great option for those who simply want to relax on the way back up!
Whispering Pines has all the same amenities you would find at a mountain resort. They have an amazing chalet with a full cafeteria, a rental shop, a ski and snowboard school and of course, awesome snow. Click here to check out what Whispering Pines has to offer.
If you’re not keen on downhill skiing, try the cross country trails. The trails here start from the lodge and lead you into the amazing forests of the Clear Hills. They are very scenic and a great workout!
Whispering Pines relies solely on natural snow. The snow is soft and fluffy under your feet which provides for effortless and satisfying turns. The grooming here is excellent and all runs and maintained at a super high standard.
Cinnamon Buns! The homemade cinnamon buns from the cafeteria at Whispering Pines are hands down the best you will ever eat. At lunch time in the lodge it is easy to see just how popular they are as almost every guest will be indulging in a cinnamon bun dessert. These cinnamon buns are a definite contributor to its title as “Northern Alberta’s best kept secret.”
